What do you think caused the conflicts in Liberia?
There are several factors that led to the war, but the main [reason was that] justice was not done. The natural resources of the country were being manipulated by a certain group of people. And the international community wasn't really paying attention to Liberia, although it saw that the justice sector was being tampered with under the regime of President Taylor and needed a change. And that change came by the power of the gun, unfortunately.
There are three Gs that rule the world: God, government, and guns. And the power of the gun is very detrimental, because under the gun there will be no justice. The one who has the gun holds the power. And as a result, justice is not done, and the rule of law cannot take its course. Jungle justice is going to take place. Violence increases. There can be no peace.
